Shop Fleet Mechanic

Description
  • Good communication skills (oral and written) particularly for conveying technical information 
  • Demonstrated positive approach towards customer service and coworkers
  • Must have a high level of motivation, enthusiasm, be a self-starter and perform daily under pressure.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision for extended periods of time
  • Possess knowledge of small engine repair, basic truck repair, trailer repair
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships, and establish the highest level of integrity with coworkers and vendors to coordinate work in order to meet objectives and deadlines

 

Requirements
  • Performs PM (preventive maintenance) services and scheduled maintenance programs for all company vehicles as well as landscape and large equipment (i.e. Skid steer, ditchwitch units) to insure proper and timely maintenance, minimizing downtime of equipment
  • Performs preventative and scheduled maintenance (when time permits) on small engine equipment for all landscape and management departments to insure proper and timely maintenance, minimizing downtime of equipment
  • Performs blade sharpening
  • Assist / Troubleshooting in performing basic equipment repairs
  • Assists in delivery and pickup of vehicles if necessary
  • Performs timely repairs in response to truck/equipment repair requests by managers
  • Communicates repairs required.
  • Anticipates and solves problems before they occur ensuring minimum downtime of equipment perform applicable facilities requests
  • Responsible for trailer service and repair
  • Responsible for welding and fabrication
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Managers or VP of Operations
