Michael Currin, Greenscape’s Founder

Michael Currin founded the company in 1979 as a spin-off of a garden center in Fayetteville, NC, and grew Greenscape into a well-known and respected landscape design, build and manage firm. Headquartered in Holly Springs, NC with a branch office in Durham and Weedman franchises in the Triangle and Wilmington, Michael has turned over day-to-day management of the firm to his son and Greenscape’s current President and CEO, Daniel Currin.

Michael has been heavily involved in the landscaping industry for almost 40 years. He has been a speaker and presenter at numerous state and national industry events, and currently sits on NC Irrigation Contractor’s Licensing Board. Michael is the Past President NC Landscape Contractors Association, Past Chairman NCLCRB (Registration Board), and Past Chairman of Landscape Division & (and member) of the Executive Committee of ALCA (now PLANET).

Understanding the importance of education, Michael has, from the founding of the company, encouraged employees to pursue industry-related degree programs, certification and licensing opportunities. He willingly shares his knowledge with others, and in the past served on the Faculty Landscape Contracting Advisory Committees at Mississippi State University and Virginia Tech.

Michael is also very committed to giving back to the community, both personally and professionally, a tradition that Daniel has not only continued but expanded through the Greenscape Outreach program. Michael has served as a Board Member and Past President Granville County Historical Society and as a Past Vestry Member & Junior Warden St Stephens Episcopal Church in Oxford, NC.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with wife, Lauren, and his children and grandchildren, who frequently visit the family farm in Oxford.
