Weed Man Technician
Essential Functions:
Field Management
  • Apply fertilizer as well as weed and insect control
  • Aeration
  • Sell lawn inspections
  • Demonstrates ability to safely operate equipment
  • Responds quickly to problem areas
Safety
  • Assures that all staff are properly trained in safety techniques and procedures to promote safety of all
  • Includes in safety training the critical importance of safe material handling, proper equipment operation and the need for correct use of personal protective safety equipment and devices at all times
  • Maintains safety policy at all times

Quality Control
  • Presents quality expectations/Weed Man standards to employees including only accepting quality plants and materials
  • Maintains jobs at above Weed Man quality standards
  • Makes recommendations to the Weed Man Manager on ways to improve quality standards for clients and employees
Client relations
  • Communicates effectively with clients
  • Responds to clients requests in a timely fashion
  • Assures legendary customer service at all times
  • Resolves problems in a timely manner
Administrative
  • Works with Weed Man Manager and Purchasing Manager to insure that all material (fertilizers, chemicals, etc) and resources (equipment, tools, etc) are available in sufficient quantities to assure efficient daily operations
  • Tracks labor and materials and processes proper paperwork (payroll timesheets, materials used, etc) in a timely manner
  • Tags equipment and completes and remits equipment repair sheets to Shop Manager/Shop technician for repairs needed in a timely manner. Inform Production Manager of repair requests
  • Upholds all Greenscape policies and core values
  • Supports branch vision and performs accordingly

SKILLS
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge including but not limited to plant ID, turf ID, insect and disease ID and diagnosis, equipment calibration, pruning techniques and schedules, pesticide and chemical application
  • Demonstrated ability to read maps and follow clear directions
  • Proven knowledge of the Greenscape Plant Care Guide and the ability to explain contents to clients
  • Organizational skills to manage daily activities, coordinate equipment needed and work with purchasing on all needed materials
  • Good communication skills (oral and written) particularly for conveying technical information to peers and clients
  • Demonstrated positive approach towards customer service and co-workers
  • Must have a high level of motivation, enthusiasm, be a self-starter and perform daily under pressure
  • Ability to work without direct supervision for extended periods of time
